Inserm : National institute for Health and Medical Research
The Inserm is a publicly-owned
scientific and technological establishment. (EPST)
Supervised by both the French Ministry for Research and the Ministry
for Health, the Inserm is dedicated to public health and through
its research, contributes to a better understanding and improvement
of the health of mankind.
From fundamental biology to public health, the competencies of the
Inserm cover all the areas in fundamental, medical, cognitive, clinical,
applied and public health research, and must ensure the continuity
of research in all of them.
In each sphere of its activities, the Inserm upholds high-level
qualitative and ethical requirements. Its mission is to improve
the understanding of diseases and to shorten the deadlines so that
patients, the medical world and its national and international partners
can benefit from the results of its research.
The Inserm actively transfers new knowledge to the economic and
social actors who can transform it into products or services useful
for health.
